in the late 1970's two mountaineers named Ridgeway & Roskelly planted the seed that would alter the evolution of hiking footwear forever. these phenom climbers sent this picture taken before a successful un-aided attempt to the summit of K2 to nike HQ, having just thrashes their LDV's reaching base camp. let's just say nike took notice, & along with taking their time, 3 years later released their 1st foray into all conditions gear. it was another 8 years b4 acg as an outdoor category in itself was officially born & as such the lava dome, the approach & the magma blazed a trail.... so to speak.
