early last year mike dytri of ludwig launched the deadstock canvas project whereby he re-worked some original canvas print sheets into a modern collab with vans. the result were some exclusive 2-tones worn by the likes of kanye.

1 of my fave sheets was his 'felt plaid' print which we have managed to source in its original form bonded to vulcanised pure crepe rubber. now i was going to wear this pair & re-enact his flavoursome footwork from the video however the chinese foot-binding technique takes time. its our pleasure to make these available at your leisure. is warm textured felt plaid with blue/green accents your clan tartan?

we have seen various modern bastardisations of the style #59 over the past 2 years that surprisingly look very cool & approach what the originals embodied. but life isn't about the way you look TO the world but the way you look AT the world! as such, the importance of look & feel are equally justified & i don't think vans will ever approach the feel of their made in usa precedent. you see a style #59 original is arguably the bees bollocks & the dogs kness & if you can score a pair in suede (originally style #595) then you got holy grail potential. take this brick suede #59 for example. not quite red, nor burgandy but a rich brick colourwaYne with all the trimmings; tan foxing, black rubber scene, pigskin collar & mustache, coordinated cord laces, pleather vamp tag & antique brass eyelets.

when we hear the words 'made in china', it conjurs thoughts of mass production, cheap labour, poor construction & inferior materials. these work boots were made in old world china however & reveal construction to rival any contemporary. they come in a lush coffee coloured suede bonded to a hard wearing rubber outsole.
