original velvet vans were manufactured only in youth & womens sizes through to US womens 10. this is a relatively small female size by todays standards. as such, vintage velvets rarely surface in mens sizes unless custom made for an individual on a made-to-order basis. in this case a gentleman must have taken a fancy to the deep purple velvet either instore or via male-order catalog & customised his very own size 13. mens style #44s & #95s featured 5-eyelet lacing while females & youths featured only 4. does the velvet catch your eyelet?
