style profile; dunlop KT26

UK connoisseurs have the dunlop green flash. australians have the dunlop volley. those in the UK with less discerning taste however have the hi tec silver shadow while aussie bogans & the undernourished prefer the dunlop KT26.

developed in portland oregon in '76 the sole rights to the KT26 were taken up by dunlop sport australia thus allowing it the iconic status it has today. achieving a somewhat underground following among aficionados, the kinetic action remains forever associated however with the less refined individuals like trent from punchy. the question posed by My KT26s blogger says it all when asking; 'why does it seem that everyone i see wearing KT26 has a beard?'

as such the KT26 became standard clothing issue for many Australian factory workers. At one point the Australian Occupational Health & Safety Department realised that there were thousands of factory workers wearing these shoes without steel safety toe caps. Dunlop was quick to solve the problem by creating a ‘safety’ version with a steel toe cap. safety in numbers
